Sign our petition to help us send a message to our state that we expect them to establish enforceable standards that address the risk of spikes of emissions in the toxic hot spots effecting our neighborhood schools.

Manganese was the air toxic identified specifically in the study published in USA Today that showed 65 Portland area schools, and two schools in Junction City, OR to be in the worst 10% of schools with the most dangerous air quality in the nation, yet Oregon’s manganese benchmark allows sources to emit spikes up to 300 times the current benchmark, as well as to allow catastrophic emissions capture failure, all while staying fully compliant and within the current limitations of annualized average emissions requirements. We need stricter emissions limits that address these short term spikes!
